Body Shaming; Sketch 2

“A very familiar tick in my head,
Sharp, stinging, red and bled.
First thoughts left unimportant
wait for the self-convincing Seconds.
Its a misery that befalls upon
those who think too much:
Of themselves, of others,
for they forget how insignificant
we are to ‘Others’
Its lonely when you want to feel lonely,
alone is something else entirely.”

As she looked at herself (in the mirror),
wearing the lenses of disgust
That’s all she saw,
Saw she disgust surround all.

“Tomorrow I’ll leave the lenses at home”
